As EMV (Europay, MasterCard, and Visa) security measures become more widespread in Europe and North America, cybercriminals are increasingly crafting techniques to circumvent, or bypass, this technology. In a follow-up to Flashpoint's March 2017 Flash Talk on EMV skimming, Cybercrime Analyst Olivia Rowley discusses new methods cybercriminals are employing to bypass EMV protections when conducting in-store fraudulent transactions.

Methods covered will include:
 •  The "Punch" method
 •  NFC (Near Field Contact) smartphone technology for conducting in-store fraud
 •  Use of "1 Dip" chip cards, praised by cybercriminals for speeding up fraudulent transactions
