Latin America lags behind the rest of the world in terms of cybercrime sophistication. Phishing attacks don’t require the need of elaborate knowledge or experience. Cybercriminals deploy basic social engineering methods in the pursuit of personally identifiable information and banking credentials. Phishing in Latin America has shown a consistent increase, being specifically popular in Brazil, Peru, and Argentina.
